Twitch has added a setting that lets users opt out of having their content used to train Amazon’s generative AI models.
The Verge reports that the toggle covers streams, VODs, clips, stream chats, and pictures and text on a channel. Twitch says opting out applies to future training of Amazon models designed to generate or synthesize text, audio, images, or video. Other AI-supported features, including captions and safety tools, can still operate.
The change gives creators a clearer control at a time when platforms are under pressure to explain how user content feeds AI systems. It also separates generative training from operational AI features, which may matter for streamers who want moderation or accessibility tools without contributing to model development.
The opt-out does not necessarily address past use, and it depends on users finding and enabling the setting. Still, it is a concrete example of platform-level consent controls becoming part of everyday creator tools.
