Stability AI has raised $76 million in a Series B round that brings new backing from Electronic Arts, Sony Music Group, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, AMD Ventures and Pacific Alliance Ventures. Existing investors including Coatue and Greycroft also participated.
The company says it has now secured $232 million through two equity rounds and convertible notes since Prem Akkaraju became chief executive in June 2024. It plans to spend the new capital on creative-production products, applied research and professional services for music, gaming and entertainment customers.
Several investors are also commercial partners, giving the model developer direct ties to rights holders and production companies as the creative industries negotiate how generative AI should be trained and used. Stability AI says its recent Stable Audio 3.0 music models were trained on fully licensed data and are available through a browser service and a digital audio workstation plugin.
Coatue co-founder Thomas Laffont is joining Stability AI’s board. The funding announcement does not disclose the company’s valuation or attach a release schedule to future products.
