Google Search users can upload a photo of a room to AI Mode, describe the available space and ask to see a proposed piece of furniture placed in the scene. A person could specify an 84-inch wall, request couch recommendations and then generate a mockup of an emerald-green sofa in the actual room.
The visual preview sits alongside existing shopping and camera tools. Google Lens can identify a vintage object from a photo and locate similar products, while Circle to Search can find decor shown inside a video, social post or webpage without switching apps. Circle to Search requires a supported device, including recent Pixel and Samsung Galaxy models.
Search Live provides spoken, step-by-step help for projects such as installing shelves and can use a phone camera for visual context. Product listings also expose comparisons, historical price ranges and alerts when an item falls below a chosen budget.
The room preview is intended as inspiration rather than a precise fitting tool. Buyers still need to verify physical dimensions and product details before ordering.
