Audio storytelling platform Pocket FM says artificial intelligence now supports 93 percent of its catalog and produces 99 percent of newly released content. At the same time, the India-founded company’s annualized revenue run rate has doubled over the past year to $500 million.

The company still relies on people for story ideas and creative direction. Its in-house models, trained using production data and listener-engagement signals, handle tasks including writing support and text-to-speech. Chief executive Rohan Nayak says the workflow made production about 80 times cheaper and reduced the time needed to create 100 hours of audio from roughly a year to one day.

More than 550,000 creators now produce about 2.5 million hours of AI-assisted content a year, according to Pocket FM. Two years ago, its entire catalog contained about 100,000 hours; it now holds more than 770,000 audio series. The company also says 12-month revenue retention rose from 44 percent two years ago to 76 percent.

These operating figures come from Pocket FM and do not by themselves measure story quality or creator compensation. They do show how generative tools can change the economics of serialized media: human concepts remain part of the process, but the conversion from an idea to finished audio happens at industrial scale.
