Microsoft is planning a roughly 2-gigawatt data center campus in Pecos, Texas, supported by its own gas power plant.
The scale is striking because AI infrastructure increasingly depends on power availability as much as chip supply. Dedicated generation can speed deployment, but it also raises environmental and local-policy questions.
