Hark has previewed Handoff, a browser-use agent meant to complete tasks on websites that do not provide official APIs, TechCrunch reports. The company says the agent reads website structure and visual information to decide when to click, type, or move through a workflow.
The basic promise is familiar: a user gives an instruction, and the agent handles actions such as booking, shopping, filing returns, or researching across sites. Hark claims its approach is faster and cheaper than competing browser agents.
Browser agents are attractive because much of the web still exposes functionality only through human-facing interfaces. If reliable, they could automate tasks without waiting for every service to build integrations.
The hard part is dependability. Websites change, forms vary, and mistakes can have real consequences, so users will need clear confirmation steps and safe limits before handing over sensitive actions.
