Cloudflare has introduced Cloudflare OS, an open-source platform for building workplace apps, automations, and agents around an organization’s internal knowledge and systems. The company says it built the platform from its own experience rethinking internal work with AI.
The pitch is that employees should be able to create task-specific tools while still using security, access, and compute primitives that the organization controls. That reflects a broader shift from single chatbots toward agent platforms embedded in company workflows.
Cloudflare OS ties together the company’s infrastructure products, including compute and Zero Trust tools. For teams already using those systems, the platform could make agent deployment feel more like an internal software project than a loose collection of prompts.
The open-source release does not remove implementation work. Companies will still need to decide which systems agents may access, how actions are reviewed, and how failures are audited.
