Google has launched Gemini Enterprise for Legal, an industry package that connects its AI models to the document and case systems used by law firms and corporate legal departments. Supported integrations include iManage, NetDocuments, DocuSign, Everlaw, RelativityOne, Thomson Reuters HighQ and specialist AI service Harvey.
The connections use the Model Context Protocol, a standard for giving AI tools controlled access to outside data and services. Google says the system can review contracts, perform legal research and monitor regulatory changes while respecting the permissions already applied to each source. Partners such as Deloitte are offering prebuilt agents for tasks including contract summarization.
Google Cloud chief executive Thomas Kurian says the product is available now in preview. A related package for financial services launched at the same time, with healthcare and life-sciences versions planned.
The legal edition uses the same underlying Gemini models as Google’s general products; its differentiation comes from prepared instructions and data connectors. That can reduce setup work, but it does not remove the need for lawyers to verify generated analysis, protect privileged material and determine whether each integration meets professional and regulatory obligations.
