Keenable has raised $26 million in seed funding to build web search infrastructure designed for AI agents rather than human browsing. Accel led the round, with Conviction Partners and individual investors participating.

The startup says its index contains more than 100 billion documents and is already used in production by several AI labs and inference providers, though it has not named them. A partnership with voice-AI company Gradium supports live information retrieval. Keenable plans a Web Query Language that would combine facts across sources when no single page contains a complete answer.

Co-founder Andrey Styskin previously led search, AI and cloud work at Yandex and later worked at Amazon. His argument is that agents need large amounts of source material for grounded answers, while conventional enterprise-search systems become expensive at internet scale. Keenable is developing index structures and retrieval methods intended to narrow the search space quickly.

Building and operating a web-scale index remains costly, and rivals include Brave, Exa and established search companies. The 15-person US and European engineering team plans to double by year-end, but the company has not disclosed pricing, revenue or the identities of most production customers.
