Gemma 4 models arrive on Amazon Bedrock with multimodal support

AWS has added Google DeepMind’s Gemma 4 family to Amazon Bedrock. The open-weight models are released under the Apache 2.0 license and include instruction-tuned variants with reasoning, function calling, and multimodal input across text and images.

The launch gives Bedrock customers another option for open-weight model deployment without leaving AWS’s managed model platform. It also reflects the growing importance of model choice inside enterprise AI stacks.

For developers, Gemma 4 on Bedrock could be useful when teams want a managed deployment path while still evaluating open model economics and capabilities.
