YouTube is preparing Custom Feeds that let viewers create separate recommendation tabs by describing the videos they want. Users will be able to refine the description and rate suggestions to tune each feed. Google says multiple feeds can be saved, though it has not specified a limit. The feature is due soon on web, mobile and television devices in the United States.
Ask YouTube will also become more visible in product-review videos and search. Viewers can type or speak questions, request organized video recommendations and receive product-comparison tables. In YouTube Music, Ask Music will create or edit playlists and explain artists, while a coming weekly feature called Your Podcast Lineup will generate a spoken preview of recommended shows. Those music features require a YouTube Music subscription and begin rolling out later this year.
Creators are getting Gemini-assisted conversational editing in YouTube Create, AI suggestions for pacing and thumbnails, and tests of as many as three video versions. Early next year, live autodubbing is planned to translate streams in real time.
The announced tools do not all arrive together, and several lack exact dates or technical details. Custom feeds may give people more control over recommendations, but YouTube still chooses the videos that satisfy a prompt; the feature does not expose or replace the underlying ranking system.
