YouTube Music is adding two conversational discovery tools for subscribers worldwide. Ask Music accepts ordinary descriptions instead of an artist or song name, while Your Podcast Lineup produces a short weekly audio guide to shows the listener might otherwise miss.
Ask Music works across a catalog of more than 300 million tracks, including official releases, live performances, remixes, covers and DJ sets. A listener can request a queue based on the music that inspired a particular song, ask who played an instrument on a recording or explore an artist’s motivations and music history. The feature turns that request into both an answer and something to play.
Your Podcast Lineup appears on the podcast page. It generates a spoken preview of recommended shows, explains why each one may suit the listener and can continue directly into suggested episodes. The approach aims to reduce the time required to inspect a large number of unfamiliar programs before deciding what to hear.
Both features are listed as coming soon for YouTube Music and YouTube Premium subscribers globally. The company did not give a specific launch date or explain how it will cite sources for factual music answers. That provenance will matter when the assistant answers detailed questions about credits or creative history rather than simply assembling a playlist.
