Eligible US iPhone owners can now submit claims in Apple’s $250 million settlement over the delayed rollout of a more capable Siri. The class action alleged that Apple’s marketing created a reasonable expectation that AI features shown at WWDC 2024 would arrive with the iPhone 16.

The settlement covers people who bought an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max or any iPhone 16 model between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025. Claims require a name, contact details and the device’s serial number, and must be filed through the settlement website by December 21, 2026.

The estimated payment is $25 for each eligible device. The settlement administrator says that figure could rise as high as $95 depending on how many valid claims are submitted, so the final amount is not guaranteed. Apple denied wrongdoing as part of the resolution.

At launch, the iPhone 16 carried “built for Apple Intelligence” branding but shipped with a more limited feature set than the personalized Siri Apple had previewed. The upgraded assistant arrived only with iOS 27 earlier this month. The case turns that delay into a concrete consumer remedy, while illustrating the legal risk of selling hardware around software capabilities that are not ready on release day.
