Uber is rolling out ChatGPT Work to more than 30,000 employees, expanding a pilot that initially covered 1,000 people. OpenAI describes it as Uber’s first company-wide agent platform for knowledge work.
The system runs inside ChatGPT Enterprise and can connect to Google Drive, Gmail, Google Calendar and Slack. Employees can use it to research internal information, prepare meeting briefs and presentations, analyze data and carry out workflows that cross those applications. Operations, finance, marketing and product teams are among the intended users.
Uber will provide an internal library of AI skills, approved integrations and employee training. Its engineering teams will continue using Codex for software development. OpenAI says GPT-6.1 Sol will be the default model in ChatGPT Work, while voice and image-generation capabilities will also be available for tasks that need them.
The announcement does not include measured productivity or quality results from the pilot. Uber and OpenAI say they plan to share adoption, use-case and outcome data as the deployment progresses, so the practical effect of the company-wide expansion remains to be demonstrated.
