Samsung Electronics is deploying ChatGPT and Codex for employees, giving staff access to OpenAI tools for workplace productivity and coding workflows. The rollout adds another large enterprise customer to OpenAI’s push beyond consumer subscriptions.
The move matters because electronics companies run complex engineering, operations, and support processes where AI assistants can affect both software development and internal knowledge work. Codex also gives the deployment a clearer developer-productivity angle rather than only general chat usage.
For enterprise AI adoption, Samsung is another signal that large companies are moving from pilots toward broader tool access, while still needing governance around data, security, and usage boundaries.
