Salesforce is acquiring Fin, an AI customer-service platform, in a $3.6 billion deal. The company says Fin’s team and technology will help improve Agentforce, its platform for building AI agents that automate enterprise workflows.

The acquisition shows how quickly customer support has become one of the most competitive markets for applied AI agents. Large software vendors are trying to own both the workflow layer and the underlying agent tooling.

For enterprise buyers, the deal may accelerate AI support features inside Salesforce’s stack while further consolidating the independent customer-service AI market.
