Pinecone is integrating with Microsoft OneLake to bring AI agents closer to enterprise data.
The appeal is straightforward: agents are more useful when they can retrieve from the systems where business knowledge already lives, but that access has to respect governance and security boundaries.
This is the direction enterprise AI is moving: less standalone chatbot, more retrieval layer connected to controlled data estates.
