Perplexity has expanded its Personal Computer agent to Windows, bringing its locally oriented AI worker to the world’s most widely used desktop operating system. The tool is designed to act across local files, Microsoft Office 365, and the web from one place.
The Windows release follows Perplexity’s earlier Mac version and integrations with Microsoft 365 workspace apps and Teams. Perplexity says the goal is to reach the work that still happens on local machines, where files, spreadsheets, and enterprise processes often sit outside web-only AI tools.
The company describes Personal Computer as a “general-purpose digital worker” that can create documents, update spreadsheets, and perform actions on a user’s behalf. The Windows version is rolling out to paying Max and Enterprise Max users.
The practical question is trust. An agent that can operate across files and business apps may save time, but organizations will need clear permissions, activity logs, and controls before letting it handle sensitive local work.
