PaddlePaddle brings PP-OCRv6 to Hugging Face for multilingual document AI

PaddlePaddle’s PP-OCRv6 is now available through Hugging Face, expanding access to OCR models that support 50 languages across several model sizes.

For builders, the key change is practical deployment flexibility. Smaller variants can fit lightweight applications, while larger ones target higher-accuracy document and image-text extraction.

The release is relevant beyond OCR benchmarks because reliable text extraction remains a core step for RAG systems, enterprise search, and multimodal AI pipelines.
