OpenAI has acquired NextSlide, a presentation startup whose team is now working on ChatGPT.
NextSlide founder Ahmed Beshry described the product as a way to turn prompts, notes, documents, or research into polished, editable presentations. The company said joining OpenAI lets the team continue working on tools that help people create, communicate, and turn ideas into finished work.
The deal terms were not disclosed. The important signal is product direction: OpenAI is continuing to add talent and technology around everyday work outputs, not just chat or coding. Presentation generation sits close to documents, research synthesis, and workplace communication, areas where ChatGPT is already used heavily.
For users, the acquisition does not immediately announce a new feature or launch date. It suggests that editable visual communication may become a more native part of ChatGPT rather than a separate workflow handled by specialist slide tools.
