Nous Research has raised a $90 million Series B at a $1.5 billion valuation and launched an enterprise push called Hermes for Businesses. Robot Ventures led the round, with participation from Nvidia, Union Square Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Samsung and 1789 Capital.
The financing brings the three-year-old company’s total funding to $158 million. Nous develops Hermes Agent as open-source software and says it has been cloned more than 24 million times. The company estimates Hermes activity accounts for roughly 2.5 percent of global AI token use; those usage figures come from Nous rather than an independent measurement.
Hermes for Businesses will let organizations deploy customized agents for multistep workflows while keeping company data in private environments. The move extends a product already popular with developers and individuals into a market where access controls, auditability, support and integration matter as much as model capability.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Nous had reached about $36 million in annualized revenue by mid-September and expects to exceed $100 million before year-end. That forecast is not booked revenue. The new round gives the company capital to build enterprise infrastructure, but customer adoption will determine whether open-source popularity converts into durable business use.
