NotebookLM becomes Gemini Notebook as Google deepens AI app integration

Google is renaming NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook, The Verge reports. The AI note-taking app will remain a standalone product, but the new name ties it more clearly to Google’s broader Gemini brand.

The rebrand is more than cosmetic. Google is positioning the product as part of a larger AI workspace in which notes, research, and assistant-style features connect across Gemini and Google services.

NotebookLM became popular because it gave users a focused way to work with source documents. Gemini Notebook suggests Google wants that workflow to sit closer to its main AI platform.
