Moonshot AI is reportedly negotiating to make its Kimi K3 model available through Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud. If completed, the arrangements would be the first such hosting deals between a Chinese AI company and major US cloud providers.
Reuters reported that Moonshot is asking for as much as 30% of the revenue generated by K3 services. Hosting on established cloud marketplaces could give enterprise developers easier access to the model while allowing Moonshot to earn from usage without operating every customer relationship itself.
The discussions remain at an early stage. The parties have not settled the revenue split, access to customer data or the method for measuring token consumption. Microsoft, Amazon and Google declined to comment, so no availability date or final commercial terms have been confirmed.
Policy risk could also affect the negotiations. US officials have threatened Moonshot with trade restrictions and accused it of taking technology from Anthropic, an allegation the company denies. Until contracts and regulatory questions are resolved, Kimi K3’s arrival on the three cloud platforms should be treated as a possibility rather than an announced launch.
