AI lab Mirendil has signed a multiyear Google Cloud partnership worth more than $100 million, according to TechCrunch. The deal gives the startup access to Google TPUs, Nvidia GPUs, and managed training clusters for its work on self-improving AI systems.
Mirendil was founded by former Anthropic researchers and recently raised seed funding at a reported $1 billion valuation. Its goal is to build AI that can iteratively improve its own performance and eventually take on more of the work done inside a frontier AI lab.
The company says the same idea could help scientific research in fields such as medicine, biology, and materials science. That remains an ambitious claim, and the immediate story is infrastructure: training systems like this requires large, flexible compute commitments.
The partnership also fits a broader industry pattern. Cloud providers are competing to lock in AI startups with capacity deals, while AI labs are trying to secure enough hardware to keep scaling. Google gets a strategic customer; Mirendil gets access to multiple accelerator types.
