Microsoft is working on a Copilot “super app” that brings together chat, coding, and agentic features, The Verge reports. CEO Satya Nadella confirmed the plan during an earnings call and said the app will span both consumer and commercial experiences.
Nadella described Copilot as moving from chat toward “Cowork” and “Autopilots,” suggesting Microsoft wants a single interface for assistants that answer questions, write code, and take more autonomous actions.
The move matters because Microsoft has spread AI features across Windows, Office, GitHub, Edge, and business tools. A unified app could make Copilot easier to understand, but it also raises product-design questions: a consumer helper, workplace agent, and coding assistant do not always need the same interface or permissions.
Microsoft has not yet shared the full design or launch details. The practical test will be whether the app reduces fragmentation or simply collects many AI surfaces under one brand.
