Meta is restricting use of rival AI coding tools including Claude Code and Codex, according to The Decoder. The concern is that sensitive internal code or prompts could end up in systems controlled by competing model providers.

The move highlights a growing enterprise tension around AI developer tools. Coding agents can accelerate work, but they also interact with some of a company’s most valuable proprietary assets.

For large technology companies, model choice is now a security and competitive issue, not only a question of developer productivity.
