Meta is creating a business called Meta Enterprise Platform to sell its AI technology to companies and developers. It has hired MongoDB chief executive Chirantan “CJ” Desai to run the initiative, linking a new enterprise push to Muse, the personal AI assistant Meta introduced earlier this month.
The planned portfolio includes Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, and Muse Code. Meta says the unit will turn its models and agents into products that organizations can deploy in customer service, software development, and internal operations. The announcement outlines the product family and leadership but does not yet provide pricing, launch dates, or detailed availability terms.
The hire also creates an immediate transition at MongoDB. Its shares fell more than 17% following news of Desai’s departure, and the database company named former chief executive Dev Ittycheria as interim CEO while its board searches for a permanent replacement. For Meta, enterprise sales offer a possible route to revenue from its heavy AI investment, but it will have to compete with established cloud and productivity vendors while convincing corporate buyers that its consumer-scale technology meets their security and governance requirements.
