Huntington Bank used AWS to redact sensitive data from 400M documents

AWS published a case study on Huntington Bank’s large-scale document redaction system. The bank used AWS to detect and redact personally identifiable information and payment card data across more than 400 million documents.

The project reportedly reduced processing time from years to a few months while achieving more than 95% redaction accuracy. That kind of scale is difficult with manual review alone, especially for regulated financial records.

The example shows a practical enterprise AI use case where the value comes from operational throughput, compliance support, and measurable accuracy rather than a flashy user interface.
