Grafana Labs has expanded Grafana Assistant so its AI observability assistant can query and correlate information across more than 30 data sources. The update is aimed at developers, operators, and site reliability engineers investigating production issues.
Modern incidents rarely live inside one monitoring tool. Metrics, traces, cloud telemetry, infrastructure events, business data, and issue trackers often sit in separate systems. Grafana says the assistant can now help users ask natural-language questions across those sources instead of manually switching between PromQL, LogQL, SQL, TraceQL, and other query languages.
The useful claim is not that AI replaces incident response, but that it can reduce the time spent assembling context. A production outage still requires judgment, validation, and operational knowledge. But if the assistant can retrieve related signals from many systems at once, it may help teams move faster from “what happened?” to a concrete hypothesis they can test.
