Google is moving AI Mode in Search further into travel planning by adding flight-price alerts, points and miles information, and a conversational hotel-booking flow. Travelers can describe a route and dates, compare current options from more than 300 airlines and travel sites, then ask the service to monitor prices.
Flight tracking is available in more than 180 countries and territories. When a watched fare changes, Google sends an email alert. Users ready to purchase are still sent to an airline or booking platform to complete a flight transaction rather than buying directly from the chat.
For hotels, AI Mode can narrow options using preferences, reviews and other factors. A “Continue on Google” step then connects supported hotel chains and travel sites, where the traveler selects a room, checks details such as cancellation terms and pays with Google Pay. The partner remains responsible for the reservation. The update reduces the number of separate searches involved, but travelers still need to verify prices, restrictions and refund conditions before confirming.
