Google will soon let users customize their Discover feed by describing what they want to see, The Verge reports. The feature is rolling out in the Google app and uses AI to adjust the feed and remember preferences for later visits.

The change brings chatbot-style control to a product that has traditionally depended on signals such as searches, clicks, and inferred interests. Instead of only reacting to behavior, users can state their preferences directly in plain language.

That could make Discover feel more controllable, but it also raises familiar questions about filter bubbles and transparency. If AI remembers what a user asks for, Google will need to make it easy to revise those instructions when interests or priorities change.
