Google has announced Gemini 3.5 Live Translate, a voice-to-voice translation system designed to preserve a speaker’s tone, pacing, and pitch across languages.
The feature points to a more conversational direction for translation products, where users expect real-time audio rather than text-first workflows.
Security and provenance are also part of the release: Google says the translated audio includes SynthID watermarks.
