Getty Images has signed a multi-year agreement with OpenAI to make licensed photos available in ChatGPT search.
The deal matters because AI search products need reliable, rights-cleared media if they are going to answer visual and current-events queries at scale.
It also fits a larger pattern: after years of scraping disputes, major AI companies are increasingly using licensing agreements to reduce legal risk and improve product quality.
