General Intuition is in talks to raise funding at a $6 billion pre-money valuation as it shifts its action-model research toward robotics, TechCrunch reports. Valor Equity Partners, Point72 Ventures and Seven Seven Six are among the prospective new investors, with existing backers also participating.
The startup was spun out of game-clip platform Medal last October. Its initial dataset includes hundreds of millions of hours of gameplay paired with action labels that record which controls players used and when. The company argues that those sequences can help models learn how actions change an environment and eventually generalize to unfamiliar physical tasks.
The round is not final. It would follow a $320 million financing at a $2.3 billion valuation by only a few weeks, underscoring investor demand rather than demonstrated deployment at the new price. General Intuition plans to spend on computing capacity and staff, including a CoreWeave partnership, while adapting its model to robotic bodies. Public evidence will still be needed to show that patterns learned from games transfer reliably and safely to real machines.
