Enterprises are expanding AI infrastructure faster than they can see or steer its economics. Across 107 organizations, spending is moving quickly across hyperscalers and model-provider APIs.

The finding matters because AI programs can look successful while their underlying compute costs remain poorly understood. Without better metering, teams may struggle to compare vendors, allocate budgets, or decide which workloads deserve production scale.

The report adds a practical warning for enterprise AI leaders: model quality is only part of deployment readiness. Cost observability and governance need to mature at the same pace as adoption.
