DoorDash has introduced Ask DoorDash, an AI chatbot that helps users order with natural-language prompts and photos.
Instead of scrolling through restaurants and stores, users can describe what they want and build a cart through the assistant. That makes AI search part of the transaction flow, not just a discovery feature.
For consumer platforms, the bet is that conversational ordering can reduce friction while giving apps more control over recommendations and intent capture.
