Deezer says AI tracks now make up more than half of daily uploads

Deezer says AI-generated music now accounts for more than half of daily track uploads to its platform, TechCrunch reports. The company said AI uploads hit a monthly average peak of 90,000 tracks per day in June 2026.

The figure has climbed quickly. Deezer reported about 10,000 AI-generated uploads per day in January 2025, then 20,000 in April 2025, 30,000 in September, 50,000 in November, 60,000 in January 2026, and 75,000 in April 2026.

The rise is forcing streaming services to define how they treat synthetic music. Deezer says its next step is removing AI-generated tracks that have not been streamed in the past six months or are linked to fraudulent streams designed to increase revenue.

Deezer already labels AI music and says its detection technology can identify tracks made with Suno and Udio, both of which face copyright lawsuits. The practical issue is no longer whether AI music exists at scale, but how platforms prevent it from diluting royalties and overwhelming listeners.
