Databricks has released Omnigent as an open-source meta-harness for working across AI coding agents. The project is designed to compose, govern, and share agent workflows rather than tying teams to one assistant or one vendor interface.
That reflects where developer AI is heading: organizations are no longer testing a single chatbot, but coordinating multiple coding agents, review agents, and workflow-specific tools. Governance, portability, and repeatability are becoming as important as raw model capability.
