Cursor has revealed more about its first AI model trained in-house while also announcing a Git platform and a mobile app. The company is expanding from an AI coding interface into more of the surrounding developer workflow.

That matters because AI coding tools are competing on context and continuity, not only autocomplete quality. Owning more of the workflow could help Cursor connect code generation, review, version control, and mobile follow-up.

The announcements also signal a deeper platform race among developer AI tools as vendors try to become the default place where software work happens.
