Clipto has raised $15 million in an all-equity funding round at a $250 million post-money valuation. The three-year-old startup says it reached $15 million in annual recurring revenue at the start of 2026 and remains profitable, with just over 20 employees across the San Francisco Bay Area, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Its software indexes video, audio, images, meetings and documents stored on a user’s computer. People can search with natural-language descriptions or authorize tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to retrieve selected information. Clipto says that access is limited to the scope a user requests and that processing runs locally rather than requiring its cloud.

The company began by serving video creators, but says that group now represents only a quarter to a third of users. Other customers include lawyers, doctors, researchers, marketers, human-resources teams, professors and students. Clipto claims more than 30 million people have tried its products and that it has hundreds of thousands of paying subscribers, though it did not provide a precise count.

Recent Model Context Protocol support lets outside AI applications connect to the index. The new capital will fund models, consumer-device infrastructure and more agent integrations. Clipto still faces large platform rivals whose photo and editing products already include natural-language search.
