Claude Fable 5.1 is now available through Amazon Bedrock and Claude Platform on AWS. Anthropic positions the model for coding, scientific research, enterprise analysis and multi-hour jobs that span tools, while AWS offers it through US and global inference profiles as well as GovCloud endpoints.

Fable 5.1 is classified as an Anthropic “Covered Model,” which adds access, retention and safety-review requirements. Standard Bedrock use requires an aws_review mode that allows AWS to retain prompts and outputs for up to 30 days for human safety review. AWS says that data stays within its boundary and is not shared with the model provider.

Eligible Enterprise Frontier Safeguards customers can instead use Fable 5 and 5.1 with zero data retention for internal work through December 31, 2026. Additional controls planned for later this year would keep prompts, outputs, encryption keys, access policies and audit logs in the customer’s own AWS account while using automated rather than human review. Those eligibility and retention details are important deployment limits, especially for teams handling regulated or sensitive data.
