AI meeting assistant Circleback has introduced a free plan with unlimited meeting transcription, replacing a short trial that the company says caused many prospective users to leave before adopting the product.
Free users can record meetings, query transcripts with AI, use the mobile and Apple Watch applications, and connect Circleback to Linear and Slack. The main limit is retention: only the previous 30 days of meeting history remain accessible. Customers who need complete history, every integration, full API access or Model Context Protocol support can choose paid plans starting at $15 per month when billed annually. The company’s previous entry price was $20.83 per month.
Circleback was founded in 2023 and raised $2.5 million the following year. It says it has been profitable since then and reports annual recurring revenue above $1 million per employee. With a team of eight, that implies roughly $8 million in annual recurring revenue, although the company did not disclose a detailed financial statement.
The free tier arrives as transcription becomes a standard feature across scheduling, dictation and collaboration products. Granola already offers a similar option, while Wispr and Calendly recently entered the market. For users, the key trade-off is whether unlimited current transcription offsets the loss of older records after one month.
