Qihoo 360 founder Zhou Hongyi has presented two AI security tools intended to compete with Western systems such as Anthropic’s Mythos. One tool has reportedly flagged 3,432 vulnerabilities.
Zhou described advanced cyber-AI systems in deterrence terms and argued that China needs its own capabilities despite acknowledging that Chinese models still trail Western systems. The framing shows how security-focused AI is becoming part of geopolitical competition.
The development also raises the stakes for vulnerability discovery tools. Systems that can find weaknesses at scale can improve defense, but they also create obvious dual-use concerns.
