AWS has published a workflow for creating weekly business reports with Amazon Quick Desktop while keeping source files under existing storage controls. The design connects an approved folder in Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP to a Quick knowledge base through an Amazon S3 access point.
Identity and access policies restrict the assistant to files selected for reporting, leaving drafts, restricted documents and unrelated material outside its reach. A reusable Quick skill defines the reporting format, citation behavior and conditions that should trigger a clarification request. Users can then ask what changed since the prior review or request a one-page leadership brief.
Quick Desktop can produce reports, presentations, PDFs, visualizations and a Slack-ready summary from the governed collection. The Slack connector drafts the message, but a person must review and approve it before posting. This keeps the system from automatically distributing generated conclusions.
The article is an implementation guide rather than a new autonomous-reporting guarantee. Organizations still need an existing FSx for ONTAP and identity foundation, must curate the approved folder, and remain responsible for checking the generated report and its citations before sharing it.
