AWS case study scales real-time AI dental image checks

AWS published a case study on Henry Schein One's Image Verify system, which checks dental X-ray quality in real time using Amazon SageMaker AI. The system evaluates images at the point of capture rather than waiting for later review.

According to AWS, the deployment has reached more than 10,000 active locations and processed over 11 million X-rays, with volume growing by about 1.5 million per week. That scale makes it a concrete example of AI moving into operational healthcare workflows.

The case also shows how narrow quality-control models can deliver immediate value when they are embedded directly into existing professional tools.
