AWS brings open-weight frontier models to GovCloud Bedrock

AWS is adding US-based open-weight models to Bedrock in GovCloud, including OpenAI’s GPT OSS 120B and 20B models and several Nvidia Nemotron variants. The release is aimed at customers with data residency and public-sector compliance needs.

The change gives government and regulated organizations more model options without moving workloads outside GovCloud boundaries. It also shows cloud providers using open-weight models to fill gaps where fully managed proprietary models may not satisfy deployment constraints.
