Apple’s 27.2 operating-system updates give Siri a memory of earlier conversations while adding one control over the personal data it can use. The new Excluded Apps setting lets people prevent selected applications from contributing information to Siri, system search and suggestions.

On supported iPhones, Siri can now refer back to earlier chats and draw from additional sources, including voicemail, Safari history, Reading List, calendar attendees and attachments sent through Messages. The same contextual memory reaches macOS, while Messages can suggest actions such as turning an invitation into a calendar event.

Siri AI also adds French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. It remains unavailable in the European Union and mainland China. Apple lists support for every iPhone 16 model plus the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. The update also adds SynthID support in Photos to help identify content generated or modified with compatible generative tools.

The wider data access can make answers more useful, but it also makes the exclusion control important. Users should review which apps contain sensitive information rather than assuming the default matches their preferences. Other 27.2 releases for Apple Watch and Vision Pro receive some of the same language features, while availability varies by device and region.
