Anthropic has pulled back a planned billing change for the Claude Agent SDK, The Decoder reports. Instead of introducing separate credits, SDK and third-party app usage will continue drawing from regular subscription limits.
The reversal matters because pricing and usage limits are becoming a competitive feature for agent platforms. Developers are sensitive to surprise costs, especially when agent workflows can consume tokens quickly.
The move also lands as competition with OpenAI intensifies, making billing simplicity and predictable usage part of the broader platform fight.
