AI influencer creators are entering a more uncertain regulatory period as the EU AI Act begins to shape disclosure expectations, according to WIRED. Some creators worry that inconsistent interpretation could disrupt businesses built around synthetic personalities.

The issue is not only whether an image or video was generated with AI. Audiences, brands, and platforms also need to know when a persona is synthetic, when a human is controlling it, and what kind of commercial relationship is involved.

Some creators are responding by making AI transparency part of the act, rather than treating it as a warning label. That approach may help preserve trust with followers and advertisers, especially as synthetic media becomes easier to produce.

The practical limit is regulatory clarity. Until platforms and enforcement bodies settle on common rules, creators may face different disclosure expectations across countries, campaigns, and social networks.
